Route Optimisation for Cement Silo Deliveries
The Challenge
Trucks returned empty after delivery, wasting load capacity. Static routing rules and dispatcher-dependent decisions generated systemic fleet inefficiencies. Inability to adapt to real-time traffic or on-site emergencies caused SLA breaches and penalties.
What We Built
A Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) optimisation system dynamically generates optimal multi-stop routes. Backhauling grouping keeps trucks loaded as long as possible. Automatic constraint management handles time windows, crane times and silo compatibility across the full fleet.
Operational Impact
Increased daily services per available truck. Strict SLA compliance with time windows. Reduced fuel consumption and CO₂ through optimised total kilometres travelled.
